When he started Big Sky Tools in Atlanta, the goal was not to build just another tool company. He wanted to build a business shaped by real industry knowledge and a practical understanding of what contractors actually needed to keep working. From the beginning, Big Sky Tools focused on serving local contractors, especially those in roofing, framing, siding, and trim carpentry.
As the business grew, so did the support behind it. Big Sky Tools became more than a place to buy tools. It became a company built around helping people stay moving on the job. Jobsite deliveries, outside sales support, in-house repairs handled by its own technicians, and a loaner tool program all became part of that story.
How we got started
Big Sky Tools was founded in 1999, but the story started before that. Before launching the company, Kenny Libby spent years in the tool industry, working in sales, product development, and marketing for major brands like DeWalt and Hitachi. That experience gave him a close look at the tools contractors depended on and the day-to-day realities of the people using them.
Turning Experience Into Something More
Built on the Same Foundation
What started in Metro Atlanta has grown over the years, and today Big Sky Tools serves customers both locally and online. Even as the business has expanded, the foundation has stayed the same: practical experience, strong product knowledge, and a close connection to the work its customers do every day.
More than two decades later, Big Sky Tools is still rooted in the same belief it started with: the people using the tools matter just as much as the tools themselves.
